Friends of Pocahontas State Park

The Friends group has a number of activities, both recurring and event driven.  The best place to see what's coming up is to check our Facebook page!  Some of the recurring activities we have are:

• Monthly Board Meeting - Third Wednesday of the month, 7:00 pm at the Heritage Center.  This meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.  If you have an agenda topic you would like to discuss, please submit the request on our comment page.  We appreciate any requests to be submitted before 5:00 pm on the Monday prior to the meeting.  The road to the Heritage center is generally closed after dark.  On the third Wednesday, the Park may have closed 1/2 of the road with a large gate.  It is OK to pass through and come down to the meeting.
• Monthly Wood Splitting  - Third Saturday of the month, down by the woodshed.  Sales of wood to the campers is one of our primary fund raising activities.  Come help us stock up the wood!  We need all kinds of folks for wood splitting - there's a job for folks of all shapes and sizes.

In addition to these recurring activities, we also have clean up activities including cleaning up our adopted road, trash walks in the Park, and Service Days where we gather a large group of folks and tackle big projects that make a real difference at the Park.
