Cabin Work Week 2021
Our fourth Cabin Work Week was two weeks and focused on the Weyanock group cabin area. This site consists of 5 camping cabins and a central lodge. The team of volunteers replaced Cabin 2's roof, painted all structures, replaced rotted wood, and repaired screens all while having a great time. Additionally, a roof was replaced on Cabin 5 in Chickahominy and significant stabilization work in the Paspahegh group cabin area. New this year was the use of composite roofing shingles that look like cedar shakes. They maintain the historic look of these cabins while being better suited for the park environment.

Lowe's made a significant financial and labor contribution to this year's CCC Group Cabin Stabilization effort. They purchased this year's supplies and a number of their employees spent two days working on the cabins in preparation for Cabin Work Week. Our thanks an appreciation goes out to Lowe's and the local Lowe's employees. Check out our Lowe's 100 Hometowns Award Winner page.
