Cabin Work Week 2022
Our fifth Cabin Work Week was two weeks and focused on the 3rd Branch group cabin area. This site consists of 7 camping cabins and a central lodge. The team of volunteers replaced the roofs on Cabins 2 and 4 and the lodge outdoor kitchen area. They also painted all structures, replaced rotted wood, and repaired screens -- all while having a great time. Additionally, a roof was replaced on a historic shower house in the Algonquian Ecology Camp. They made such fast progress in 3rd Branch that the team was also able to complete the shutter and screen repair in the Paspahegh group cabin area. For the 2nd year, the team used the composite roofing shingles that look like cedar shakes. They maintain the historic look of these cabins while being better suited for the park environment.
